The Technology, Entrepreneurship and Commercialization graduate certificate provides students with a proven approach to evaluating technologies and bringing technical innovations to market. Students can choose their own adventure from a variety of classes such as product design and development, venture opportunity analysis and new firm finances. This certificate is great for the early-stage entrepreneur that wants to explore the viability of their startup or product or someone who wants to level-up their career options.

Professor Chang will also discuss graduate opportunities with the Wolfpack Investor Network (WIN). Through WIN, students may gain exposure to screening of portfolio companies, analysis of company progress, company pitches, investors, and other due diligence processes.

We invite students, faculty and staff to join us on March 22 at 12 p.m. to hear about the courses and ask the TEC director, Lisa Chang, any questions you may have. Lunch will be provided.

RSVP via email to entrepreneurship@ncsu.edu to attend.

NC State alum Sunny Bhathela launched VIANI, a watch company featuring Hindi numerals, honoring South Asian mathematicians from the 6th and 7th centuries. The choice highlights the historical significance of the Hindi Numeral System, known for its decimal-based numbers and profound influence on global mathematics and science.

Sunny’s advice to current students is to explore and utilize the resources at NC State. “A dream without action is just a hallucination,” Sunny said. “When the moment of boiling inspiration strikes, follow it up immediately with action.”

#Fintech, short for financial technology, came about with the success of companies like Venmo, PayPal, and Coinbase, blending finance with technology. As a result, many industries are thriving in Raleigh, such as Disney investing in Epic Games, Apple opening a campus, and fintech growing. This environment has attracted people who want to stay, build their lives, and pursue careers here.

"It's an amazing time to be an #NCState graduate, and I feel that's true for all of the amazing colleges and universities here in our area," said Haley Huie, director of the NC State Entrepreneurship Clinic. Huie says the robust fintech job market is bolstered by rising rates of local college graduates choosing to work locally.
