U.S. Senator for North Carolina Kay Hagan visited NC State this week to discuss the importance of small business and investing in higher education for job creation and economic growth.  Her visit included a stop at the Garage, where she met with Entrepreneurship Initiative students to learn about their business ventures.

Tyler Cross, College of Engineering; Mark Delgado, College of Engineering; Colin Lee, College of Management; Sean Maroni, College of Engineering; and Suzanne Matthews, CHASS, all spoke with Senator Hagan about their experiences as student entrepreneurs.  Senator Hagan was pleased to hear how they were contributing to North Carolina’s economic growth through initiatives such as working with local manufacturers.  As entrepreneurs, the group also discussed the importance of financial education to help prepare students to become successful leaders in the work place.

In addition to her visit to the Entrepreneurship Initiative, Senator Hagan also made stops at Agile Sciences, Webassign, and the Hunt Library.
