Watch the Entrepreneurs Lecture Series

November 17, 2011

Nearly 300 students, community members, and business leaders gathered for the Entrepreneurs Lecture Series (ELS) at the McKimmon Center.  Hosted by NC State’s Entrepreneurship Initiative, attendees were treated to a distinguished panel of entrepreneurial leaders.   The keynote speakers shared their personal stories, advice and philosophies regarding entrepreneurship.

Heather Hesketh, founder of hesketh.com, coined the term “life-preneur” when she encouraged the crowd to apply entrepreneurial thinking to all aspects of their lives.

John Harthorne, founder and CEO of MassChallenge, shared his advice for launching a start-up during tough economic times as well as the three characteristics an entrepreneur must have to be successful.

Andy Albright, co-founder and President/CEO of National Agents Alliance, challenged the group to use entrepreneurship to make a difference in the world, using his personal story as an example.

Prepared remarks were followed by an interactive question and answer period from the audience with Dr. Tom Miller, Executive Director of the Entrepreneurship Initiative, serving as moderator.  The semi-annual event was sponsored by the Entrepreneurship Initiative in partnership with Triangle Entrepreneurship Week.
